Now President Obama has called to thank her. The President called Fluke on the phone just before her appearance on Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC Friday, she told Mitchell, and offered words of support and an implicit rebuke of Limbaugh. This comes after Speaker John Boehner criticized the conservative radio host and at least one advertiser abandoned his show. RELATED: Advertisers Distancing Themselves Over Limbaugh 'Slut' Rant Fluke told Mitchell: [Obama] encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women, and what was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents they should be really proud. Obama was alluding to Limbaugh's trolling question, "Can you imagine if you're her parents how proud of Sandra Fluke you would be? Your daughter goes up to a congressional hearing conducted by the Botox-filled Nancy Pelosi and testifies she's having so much sex she can't afford her own birth control pills and she agrees that Obama should provide them, or the Pope." General Motors announced today that Volt production will stop for five weeks from March 19 through April 23 in order to curb rising inventories of the plug-in hybrid. “We need to maintain the right inventory levels and continue to meet demand,” GM spokesman Chris Lee said. 1,300 workers at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant will be temporarily laid off as the plant shuts down. At the end of February, GM had a total of 6,300 Volts left in inventory, which could last them almost half a year based on current sales rates. The Volt is an important vehicle to Chevrolet, but also the industry as a whole. As the flagship range-extended EV to land in the American market, it serves as a barometer for EV sales sustainability. There’s no question other companies that are later to the party, like Ford with its all-electric Focus, will be watching closely. If the Volt continues to suffer, it might be a strong indicator of how other manufacturers approach the EV market. I listen to Rush often enough to know that most of his advertisers are per-inquiry ads like "Life Lock" and some alternative to AARP. National advertisers left conservative radio long ago. Yet they buy on Al Sharpton's radio show in the same fashion that businesses pay protection to the mafia to avoid trouble. What's funny is that the Democrats will be buying time on Fox News(through local cable avails) and Rush Limbaugh in October, and no one threatens to boycott them for it. It makes no sense to threaten a business for running an ad during Rush, but look the other way when Democrats advertise on conservative media. |

Elections are won and lost on cumulative damage, and this is just one more bullet in the foot of the party. And a major one that will last long beyond the story. Hate to break it, but women are the majority in this country. And for every Stepford wife, there's a democrat male.The left is pissed at Obama for not doing enough. What the republicans are offering is not going to attract any. And the middle is sitting there with a migraine over what the republicans are doing to tell them to go fuck themselves.
