Precisely how I felt when I worked for the state ... until Paturkey came along and had me collecting checks for twiddling my thumbs and doing fuck all for it. :(

That's why I bailed.

As a fellow gov't employee, I want to read this sickening pile of crap, but the newspaper that factually claimed America's pasttimes 100 years ago were wifebeating and lynchings I want to show todays whoppers

1) You cannot 'criticize' Obama during Black History Month
2) Rick Santorum Should Be Disqualified From Race because of views

Since I won't click, and your elk like this, I can only image it's about the stimulus money for jello wrestling.

Wow ... excellent point! I'll bet Sanitorium could win this if he and Rmoney did a jello wrestling thing ... they'd have Luch's vote too. :)

There are far too many of his kind and they earn far too much. Well written? Yes. Utter bullshit? Yes.

That's oxymoronic. It's enough to say that it's grammatically correct; "well-written" is synonymous with a watertight argument, not transparent rhetoric. For example, I don't buy for a moment that the author sacrificed "a high-paying job in the private sector" to deliberately go work for the government; no way. (Unless his ideology was really that important? Then the man is dangerous. He's worked in Tel Aviv; for whom, I do wonder?)

I'm not fond of Cato, but they actually have a decent counterpoint to Ullner's flash of substanceless patriotism . . .

You think there are too many foreign service officers, do you?

How do you think the US would exert any influence worldwide without them? You think President Santorum will just be able to do all his negotiations with foreign countries directly over the phone, without help from others?

Negotiations over minor matters on a daily basis. But the cumulative effect is significant.

If the "cumulative effects" are what we see today, we either need fewer of them or a new batch of them.
