That's because the vast majority of Italians are not in organizaed crime.All 4 of my wife's grandparents were born in Sicily. Some members of her family are jerks, but not a single one (even second or third cousins) has had any connection whatsoever with organized crime. She even has relatives named Bonano who have no connection. |

There was some cafe on one of the corners of Fresh Pond Rd where a hit took place too in the 80s. I think one of the corners...Linden...grove...palmetto... I. Forgot where it was. |

No, that's not the one I am thinking of, it was definitely Fresh Pond.I think it was a cafe (no longer there) at Fresh Pond and Palmetto. Wasn't there also some kind of hit in that diner on Myrtle Ave and Woodbine across from the old Madison Theater? |

I remember the cafe on the corner of Palmetto. I think it was Cafe Aiello. He went to prison for selling heroin from his pizzeria on 125th Street. That's the same block where the Giannini crew eventually set up shop in the 90's. |

It happened in that diner across from the old Madison Theater. It's still called Anthony Vendetti Square there, in honor of the cop shot. I remember it being in the news, and people ran to the Corattos pizza that was there for help. There was blood all over the sidewalk. It must have been the early 80's as they had just put in those brick sidewalks along Myrtle. |
