Did yours look like this and have alcohol in it and was it kept in the closet for a couple of years before you ate it? That was my experience with fruitcake and it was a horrible experience. I was practically traumatized.

Once it has dried out, it is, as your wrote, raw material for hockey pucks.I find that dousing the cake with liberal quantities of my favorite distilled beverage works very well in this regard. |
