I think I am going to try to become an artist specializing in calligraphy - it doesn't seem too hard and I already began reading the history of Chinese calligraphy which is where the art originated. Next I am going to get one of those instructional booklets and then when I begin painting I will try to sell my pictures. This morning, I read about the meaning of the Qing Dynasty seal which is the little red woodblock stamp used in lieu of or in conjunction with the artist signature. I see the matted prints along Fifth Avenue in front of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and I think I can paint at least that good but as with anything only time will tell. Please monitor this thread periodically and I'll keep you updated on my progress. Thanks for everything.

Totally uncalled for. Please stop with the subliminal references, and thanks.

For the record, 22/7 was a very early approximation of pi. It was used by the Egyptians as late as the 3rd century BCE( Which may explain the shape of pyramids)and by the Chinese as late as the 5th century CE. Perhaps not accurate enough for NASA, for our purposes it represents an error of 0.04%. I see nothing on this venue that requires much greater accuracy than that. You may now continue.

For this forum, it should be 3.2.

This morning, I read about Zhang Xu (c. 658-47), a Chinese calligrapher during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. Mr. Xu was one of the Eight Immortals of the Wine Cup or something like that. To better illustrate my point I attached this picture of a Tang:

I had a neighbor who enjoyed his vodka and Tang. He'd down a tall glass in the morning and exclaim "If it's good enough for the astronauts, it's good enough for me!"
