He's muffed a few like that, although not quite as badly. I read a clarification (he has lots of those) where he said something along the lines of that while his personal belief is that life begins at conception and that no one should have an abortion, he doesn't think that government should outlaw it. A similar opinion to Tony G and Chris GP38. But that's about the worst position that anyone can have. It's saying that you think that abortion is murder, but you're ok with other people committing murder because everyone is titled to their own opinion. I don't see how anyone can balance the two positions unless they have absolutely no regard for human life. |

I have no right to impose my OPINION on others. I don't like abortion, but that is my opinion. Other's opinions vary and have their right to disagree on my position. I feel life begins at conception, but that is a very subjective opinion.Women should have the right to chose, based on THEIR morals or opinions. |

I have no right to impose my OPINION on others.Matters of life and death of real people are not matters of opinion. I don't like abortion, but that is my opinion. "I don't like murder, but that is my opinion." That's essentially what you just said. Other's opinions vary and have their right to disagree on my position. The words of the moral relativist. I feel life begins at conception, but that is a very subjective opinion. "I feel that the Rwandan Tutsi are real people, but that is a very subjective opinion" That's essentially what you just said. Women should have the right to chose, based on THEIR morals or opinions. Those who think that anybody has the right to choose to commit murder based on the murderer's "opinions" have no morals. |
