Sewers are a relatively recent development though ... back in the 1950's when most of that stuff was being built, cesspools were looked upon as ZOMG when they replaced cisterns.Being by the ocean is probably cool in the summertime, but when tropical season comes along, there's benefits to being deeper on the mainland. :) |
