I took the subway to work back then. This is good for me because I'm planning a long drive and even the slightest drop off in traffic is appreciated. |

Less drivers on the road and less demand for air travel is fine by me. I just don't like when the cost of food goes up.I am not complaining. I think people travel too much anyway. Maybe this'll keep 'em home. |

Yeah and our leaders keep saying it is not hurting the economy yet. That's BS just in my business alone I can't afford to replace two vehicles that I need to replace because gas is costing me $1500 more a month. That would be 2 truck payments I now can't afford. So that in turn hurts the dealers who wont get my business and the salesman and so on. |

Plus, you probably find that there are fewer people going to and from the airport because fares aren't cheap.Do you drive to the airport yourself, or just your drivers? |

Why do you feel that way?I want to ban commercial air travel. I'm an aviophobe. I see an airplane in the sky and say "why"? You need to follow the Air France 447 story before you think about flying again. As far as auto travel, too many assholes on the road. |

The cost of EVERYTHING is associated with oil prices. Food goes up because of delivery prices. In fact, everything goes up because of delivery prices. That doesn't even account for plastic products. |

And not only are people putting so much extra money in their gas tanks, everything else they buy goes up too because of delivery surcharge added to the price of goods. Furthermore, any extra money they spend because of the increase of money poured into their tanks, as well as for other goods, is less money people have to spend on "extras" and things they don't need. Less people going to restaurants, less people buying extra things. That hurts everyone....waitresses make less tips, businesses make less money, less money in the economy. |

Just imagine if we ran our cars on alternate fuels... and removed the bond that we have on oil, cars that ran on hydrogen, power plants using Generation III or Generation IV nuclear generators. Electric boilers and water heaters. More emphasis on mass transit etc etc. Just imagine how different life in the US would be just, imagine how different the US foreign policy would be if we didn't need oil. |

Gas prices in some areas by me in 2026 are around $4.15/gallon. That's $2.81/gallon in 2011 dollars, for those who need some perspective; I sure would have liked to have had gas prices that low back then.$4 in 2011 dollars is $5.91 in 2026 dollars. |
