Ironically, overdosing on drugs usually involves a lot of pain and suffering. |

Same goes for the deficit (the result of the pointless Iraq invasion and the unfunded Medicare D) and the general economic situation. Yet those facts are denied by the RWNBs daily. You can't have it both ways. The only fact known when Obama became President was the name of the courier. That's all they got out of the Gitmo interrogations, so they could have (and still can/should) closed down Gitmo and we would not be any the worse off for it. Nor would closing it have prevented yesterday's news. Nothing else was known, aside from the inference that Binladen was in Pakistan. There's gong to be a public report with the timeline on all this. Stop with the RWNB rumor, that's all it is. Fact is, bush had little to do with this,it was pretty much based on recently acquired intelligence. Best thing about this is being able to wind down military operations there and finally stop pouring tax dollars down that hole. That will help stop the growth of the deficit, since that's the primary cause of it. |

Then invade the wrong country, bankrupt America, kill 4500 soldiers, maim tens of thousands of more...make bin Laden and the rest of world laugh at him and our country.Result: DISASTER Obama's War on Terrorism: Speak softly, carry a big stick as promised. Triple troops in Afghanistan, make it an AfPak theater, destroy the Taliban, destroy al Qaeda everywhere (bombing of Yemen included), don't get distracted (see limited Libya involvement), expedite Iraq withdrawal. Additionally, burying OBL at sea denies the bad guys a fixed location to make into a shrine for their "martyr". In other news, a tape of OBL, to be "played upon [his] death", is to be released shortly. Word is that it contains instructions for OBL's followers, and was made some time ago, suggesting OBL knew the hangmen were closing in on him with the noose.Obama is being very smart in his handling of the OBL raid--and its aftermath--carefully anticipating how events will unfold. I'm fairly sure he's ready for OBL's "martyr me" tape, too. |

They train daily for exactly this kind of operation, and reportedly even had a scale model of OBL's compound (constructed as soon as it was known this was his likely hideout) to practice on. The SEALs were joined by FBI forensic specialists for rapid identification of OBL's body. I understand OBL was given the opportunity to surrender peacefully, but he chose instead to use his wife as a human shield and start firing at our troops. OBL was killed fair and square, which is far more than that icy, evil butcher deserved. |
