Thanks for taking them and sharing them. But the funny thing is that IINM Dan Lawrence just wrote a few months ago that it is still a pit and that nothing has been built. Go figure. |

There clearly is still a pit, as the photographs show, and nothing has been built, in the sense that the perfect tense implies completion. |

There being a pit on the site does not imply that the site is a pit. It clearly is not. Further, partially completed buildings count as something having been built. |

Great stuff, my favorite is the one of the construction of 4 WTC. It bugs me that 2 & 3 WTC have not risen above the street yet, I hear once their construction reaches street level they will stop due lack of tentents or money IIRC. Once the encomony picks up, then they will resume construction on those two.I don't really like the Transit Hub idea, as they are eventully gonna take out the steps in the WFC across the street and put the entrence to the underground connector in its place, IDK how many of you here been inside the WFC complex, but those steps are awsome! It would really suck if they remove them, I mean why can't they just use the enclosed pestdestrian bridge thats there that connected the WFC to the orginal WTC? Otherwise, there would'nt be much of an reason to vsit the WFC, the stores there suck lol. |

Yep, and by the end of this year (Unless an delay pops up or something) 1 WTC will surpass 7 WTC in height! It goes up a floor a week and the PA expects it be about 55 stories at the end of the year, it would three floors higher than 7 WTC at that point. I can't wait until they put cladding on this building! |

Dan Lawrence said that nothing had been done, i.e. nothing had been built. And that is incorrect now and was just as incorrect when he said it. JohnL, you are bound to fail when you try to be a smartass. And you are almost guaranteed to fail when you try to defend Dan Lawrence. Any intelligent person knows that.So once again, you are 100% wrong. |

This is the final design I believe:![]() It's "fine", I like it. It's way better than the early desgin which was a useless 50 story building with the high floors to make it 1776 feet being a skeletal excuse for a structure. |

The design just got better over time, didn't it?THANK YOU NYPD for forcing a redesign. They need to use taxpayer funds to finish 2&3 WTC, even if it takes 100 years to pay back. This stuff is SYMBOLIC! Maybe they should take donations. |

I agree, and all these projects seem to take place in low economic times anyway. The ESB was built during the Depression, even the original WTC was completed during bad economic times. |

I thought the NYPD wanted the new 1 WTC to be further inland from the West Side Highway to avoid car bomb attacks? I didn't know they forced them to change the look.Interesting to note that there will be an underground parking garage under the building, I mean, is the guards gonna check every single car that comes into the garage? When the building is done I can see an terrorist attemping an car bomb attack in the garage, I doubt they let trucks down there after what happend in 93. Bombs is the only way they can attack the building, the 9/11 style attacks most likely won't never happen again, they would just have an repeat of flight 93. |

The "Freedom Tower" and environs isn't a real estate development. It's America's "victory mosque." The banking industry has largely left NYC and doesn't need those buildings. As it was, they couldn't keep the OLD WTC occupied were it not for government renting most of the space in there. NYS was a major tenant. |
