The cops inside the stadium, although they're wearing NYPD uniforms, are actually moonlighting working for and getting paid by the security company. You have that in several other places such as hotels and the Empire State Building. It's called paid details. While the NYPD does impose restrictions & guidelines they are NOT working for the NYPD. Only the cops OUTSIDE on the street are working for the NYPD. That's why if you check their collar brass they're all from mixed commands. It's also why you see very little (or no) sergeants as the SBA (Sergeants Benevolent Assn) discourages paid details and would throw one out of the union for working a paid detail. |

The PBA has no say in CCRB and I can't see the Republican Party having any pull (or reason) either. The CCRB is strong which is unfortunate as they take too many frivolous complaints seriously.And even if the PBA did have pull, isn't that what a union is there for, to protect their members? |

Check their photography policy - quite interesting:Cameras and video equipment Single-frame flash photography is permitted. Tripods, extended length zoom lenses, other professional camera equipment, movie cameras and any other video or audio recording equipment are not permitted in Yankee Stadium. Guests are not permitted to transmit or aid in transmitting any account, description, picture, video, audio, reproduction or other information about any games. I guess they don't want anyone competing with the pros. If the cop is working a security detail like Sarge says and they suspected you were video taping then they are within their rights to ask since it is a private venue which gets to set its rules. What I find interesting is the phrase "not permitted to transmit or aid in transmitting any account, description or other information about any games". Does this mean we can't call our friends and discuss the game either? |
