The article mentions that the franchise owner had to pay a ridiculous amount for onions from Germany, and then went on to state that he is reopening under a new name with locally-sourced ingredients. Perhaps the food chain is too long in this instance. |

His problems are related to the collapse of the Icelandic currency. It's been so devalued that he can no longer afford importing the ingredients for the McDonalds menu, which in Iceland pretty much includes everything except ice. |

I made the mistake of having a Big Mac when I was in Bushwick today at the McDonalds at Gates Ave station on Broadway. I got a Big Mac meal and an extra $1 cheeseburger too. I determined I really don't like Big Mac. The fries sucked (because of NYC's ridiculous nanny law), the Big Mac isn't half as good as Checkers, which eat more often. It doesn't even taste as good as Whopper. Big Mac is tasteless.Wendy's burgers are also much better. While the cheeseburger I also had today was "okay", I much rather have a double bacon cheeseburger at Wendy's, also $1. McDonald's sucks. |

Ugh, I could think of so many other much better fast food non-meat items before I would go to McDonalds! |

I must admit that even though I'm a McDonalds regular, I've never had a Big Mac. Not a one. I've had everything else, even the fish sandwich. In fact my two favorite McDonalds items are no longer on the menu. One is the Arch Deluxe. The other is this classic: |

I wouldn't be a fish eater either if I ate things like Fiet O Fish. I like "real" fish, I hate "fried" fish you get from fast food places. Long John Silver. Yuck. It all tastes the same. The fries taste like the fist, the fist tastes like the fries. There's not too many fast food fish things that I like. The only time I have fried fish is when I get a fish platter at a local (gulp) fried chicken joint nearby where I live. It's the only fried fish I have had that actually tastes good at a fast food place. |

The nail in the coffin for McDLT was when they outlawed Styrofoam. The McDLT used to be in a white two sided styro container...which kept the cold side cold, and the hot side hot, and it really worked well. When that was first outlawed, they used to do the McDLT wrapped up in paper, and it was never the same, as it defeated the purpose.Do you remember when they first got rid of the styro boxes, they at first wrapped them up in paper, with a little cardboard ring around them? They did that for a while before going to the little cardboard boxes. |

To me the Big Mac is not that bad. It's not "bad", it's just mediocre. It's tasteless, and is not as good as other fast food burger choices out there. If anything the special sauce makes the taste. It's "special" sauce is Thousand Island/Russian salad dressing. The whopper has a larger burger patty. But just as thin. Maybe thinner. Meatwise, it has about the same amount of meat as Big Mac's two skinny patties. Whopper also has more taste. But Checkers is better than either of them. Whopper also has way more calories, you can almost feel the calories.... I would rather have a Whopper than a Big Mac though. Wendy's burger is likely the best of the bunch. But I'd prefer the double or triple. More meat and more stuff on it. Agreed. And while it may not be "healthier", for some reason it "feels" healthier than either Burger King or McDonalds.... |

Also a large soda! >Shrimp Ebi Filet or the McKebab, YES! >Prosperity Burger. Looks like the McRib sandwich. >McArabia flatbread. If nothing else was on the menu. >McLaks (Salmon). Like the McLobster only if it's served warm. >McSpaghetti. I thought that would only be available in Italy. Otherwise I could see it being served as a kid's meal here. >McRice. At first I thought it was a local side dish.
