Rush Limbaugh: Hamas is the World's Best PR Firm

From his site: RUSH: You know last week during the hubbub over "Barack the 'Magic Negro'" when I was away, I had a bunch of people concerned, send me e-mails, "You need to hire a PR firm for when you're gone, Rush, you're getting beat up. They're destroying you out there and you're not out there to defend yourself," and so forth. I'm not going to hire a PR firm. All they would do is arrange a meeting with the New York Times editorial board. But if I were gonna hire a PR firm, you know who I would hire? Hamas. I, ladies and gentlemen, would hire Hamas. If you want to fool the Drive-By Media with Photoshopped pictures and staged events, false information, out-and-out-lies, if you want to manipulate 'em, you don't have to go to one of these lousy PR firms, just go to Hamas. These people are PR experts. I mean look at these gazookas, look at how they know how to do this. They focused on civilian losses, then they followed up with children, and now almost to mock the New Media, decries the loss of our daughters. It's working better than they ever planned. They put people in their headquarters buildings, they put people into houses where their rocket launchers are, then the Israelis target the houses where the rocket launchers are and of course you have, quote, unquote, civilian causalities. Hamas wants civilian casualties! These people are brilliant at PR. They want civilian casualties, they get them, they parade the dead bodies of their leaders through throngs of people, and then the sons, and that goes so well, they dig up the dead girl kids and say, "Let's parade them, too." The Drive-Bys fall for it every time it's tried, be it in Lebanon, hire Hezbollah if Hamas is too expensive. It might be tough to hire Hamas these days. They are a little busy with their own project. So you go up and hire Hezbollah. Hell, you could go hire some of these people down at Club Gitmo that are prisoners down there. It is stunning. Look at all the money people in this country waste on high-powered PR firms, when Hamas can get you coverage any way you want it with the world media, not just the US, but the world media."

On Hamas though, he's absolutely right, and based on what I am seeing, Hamas is chillingly calculating.

Selkirk AMoreria WillD Greg UWS SMAZ AlM and Easy. Not sure what you'd expect me to say that would be interesting. I don't have any good insights into Hamas's leadership. I'm not sure that Rush does either. I'm not qualified to judge whether Hamas actively encourages civilians to congregate among their fighters in order to cause civilian deaths, or just doesn't actively keep its fighters out of civilian areas. And I doubt that Limbaugh is any more qualified to judge their intentions. Obviously the net effect is the same; it's just the intention that's different.

Why do they need Israel to do it? Hamas has already done it a few times. Plus, today, they rigged the whole school up with explosives. But for some reason, this wasn't repeated in every newsbreak like when they finally went after those in the "playground of death". That's what Hamas named it some time ago.

But whenever forces are about to arrest or attack the terrorist, they send out texts/cell phone calls, and brigades of women run over like human shield and get in the way. People have gotten away because Israel wouldn't engage in civilians. Back in the day when Israel patrolled Gazastan that is anyway. The only way to heaven is to be a shahid you know.

There's nothing tragic to them when a family member, no matter how innocent WE would think them to be, being killed in a jihad against Israel. Mothers may cry uncontrollably in front of western media news cameras, but when they go to their local mosque, they celebrate. Stop assuming every person on Earth thinks like we do, or values what we do, or dismisses what we do.

I agree, it's a lot easier for someone who is psychologically a ten year old to do a remote diagnosis of the mental intentions of others than for an adult to do it. Just because you and Rush believe you know what's going on in the minds of others doesn't mean that I do. I can only judge actions, which in this case are very bad. I can't judge intentions based on the information I have.
