Some don't feel like making the effort to learn a new situationIt's not about learning a new situation. It's the ergonomics for many people I've talked to. The location of the master controller handle on the 143 and 160 is a problem for many T/O's, especially if you are left-handed like me. Had the handle been placed in the center of the console as it is on the 142 rather than by the cab window on the T/O's right, I would not be so hesitant to work with the 160. |

You didn't have to really post your reseasons. That's sad the way you had to leave. Now I understand your feelings re: the old job.I was just making a "Prisoner" reference out of my last post. Anyone remember the premise? |

I'm not old enough to remember The Prisoner, but I've seen a couple of episodes. A spy gets kidnapped and moved to some fake town where people may or may not be other prisoners or connected to the people that kidnapped him. Or something like that. |

Then you know Tampa pretty well.I'd like to get OBS to ride the trolley with me one Saturday. He's in the area, but seems busy. I don't feel like riding it alone, even though I'm pretty close to Ybor City. |

There have been times I have thought of resigning from NYC transit, but have stuck with it and now I really love my job. Guess it takes time and I don't want to have regrets like you do LUCH.With time jobs get better, especially at NYC transit. |

Well, I guess the J and M. I liked the M until I kept getting stuck with a job that did a trip to Bay Parkway, and six shuttles to Myrtle. So the J might be my favorite. |

Luch, I've met quite a number of co-workers who left the TA only to return later. One T/O who I "re-broke in" had his handles twenty years prior. The fact that you left on good terms means that if you ever decide to return, the TA will welcome you back again without prejudice. BTW, it's actually the other way around. It's all the E people who have been running downstairs to the J in droves. :) |
