They made sure that everyone knew the church's stance even though they didn't discuss it at all.The Catholic Church is very pro-immigrant rights, and the Bishop here frequently has editorials in the newspaper and clashes with the Republican Governor. OTOH, the priest at my father's church - a wonderful man whom I respect very much - actually said in a sermon that it is a sin to vote for a pro-choice candidate. |

Should U of I not consider him for a position because he was charged with a violent crime? |
