As opposed to the Democrats...yes actually. Am I one of the few people who has NOT benefitted from Bush's tax cuts, and has actually been HURT by it?

And if one cuts taxes further...how does one raise needed money? And yes, certain taxes are way too low as they are...I'll leave it to you to figure out which ones.

And in spite of it...the Democrats will still win, even if by 269-269 with House Democrats selecting Obama. It matters where the people are turned off, and it isn't happening enough in swing states.

McCain may well win the popular vote, but look at how far that got Gore.

Blogs suck big time. But whereevcer the "source" for your original post on this is certainly not some objective newsource, as it's hogwash.

99.9% suck. But there are some highly reliable ones -- for British politics, I read Guy Fawkes, Iain Dale's Diary, and Conservative Home (all, as it happens, distinctly right-of-center, although I occasionally read blogs by Plaid Cymru (the Welsh nationalist party) supporters too).

And also, is the VP choice supposed to complement the #1 person? If so, how does bloated government complement McCain's wish for the opposite? In short, if it came down to trust...I know what McCain stands for, and I'm frightened.

I've been to Wyoming quite a few times. I wouldn't want to live there, but it's not the worst place in the US. Lots of cowboys and what some would call "trailer trash". I didn't see all that many yuppies and I've been to all of their larger "urban" areas. There are lots of Mormons the closer you get to Utah, but it can't have more than Utah. That would be bizarre.

Mostly my biggest complaint is that it's just too effin' cold for me.

Important things to note about that map - first off, the blue in the middle right is where I am, most of the red on the entire right side is uninhabited (except in summer by non-residents) but the bears have the right to vote (helps the GOP and stops Colbert) and most of the rest of the red is largely uninhabited. Check out a map of congressional districts and it will give you more of an idea of the actual population areas. Then look at how badly Lazio lost. :)

Hillary is well respected throughout the state because she's actually done her job, and done it well. Curious thing about Ithaca ... aside from the few smoking remains of a Corning Glass plant there, Ithaca is almost entirely full of colleges and universities and thus fits the chosen demographic. If all those students don't come out and actually vote though, Obama might be toast. He's done little to appeal to those over the age of 40 who actually DO come out and vote. :(

The places where most people live I would guess. California's red/blue map would look similar. LA, SF, and a few other coastal areas. The entire rest of the state would be red. But those few areas have most of the population.

I wonder if our red/blue definitions are confusing for international subchatters. My understanding is that red=left in most of the world. As in communism, red china, etc.

If they're stuck in their cars, they're hardly "habiting." :)

Sorry though, up here we consider Long Island to be Connecticut's sand bar sorta like the way folks on Long Island consider upstate as part of Canada. It's all good. (grin)

Nope ... rest assured that the rest of the planet know their color schemes ... republicans go by the color of their necks, and the democrats freeze in the dark because of the price of fuel. :)

Where is the NY map from? Do we have one from California, I would be very interested to see, as I know what you said is true.
