Depends on the state, however, and the age of consent in that state (assuming the person wasn't taken across state lines to evade these laws). Some states have it at 18, but some have it at 17. |

What about that football player in Georgia that went to jail for like 5+ years for having sex with a girl a little more than a year younger than him when he had just turned 18? The DA fought that all the way to Superior Court.I know that in California it's evidently fairly common for Mexican guys to date underage girls. They had a big billboard campaign against it a couple of years ago. They don't prosecute those guys unless the girl is really young. 25 dating 16 doesn't seem to be a problem if they get married. |

The let me say something positive as long as I'm stereotyping.Many of the neighborhoods around LA, especially in South Central, have become safer with the growing Hispanic population, especially the Mexican hoods. One thing that I see in Mexican neighborhoods is that the people are out walking around the neighborhood, going to the park, shopping, etc. Mexicans have made many areas of Watts, Compton, etc. more vibrant and by extension safer. |

Also, in the case of Alaska...only one region really matters: metro Anchorage (the city itself---of which Palin is a former mayor---is a decent sized city of 280K and a 360K metro area---in a state of 660K). |
