You can't make this stuff up. A security guard saw a photographer taking pictures at Detroit Wayne Airport and ordered him to delete them. Trouble was he was using a FILM camera at which time she grabbed the camera and tried to find the delete button. The photographer asked for a supervisor and...

While waiting for the supervisor, she continued to try to figure out how to "delete" the image, whereupon I informed her if she destroyed my film I would in fact sue her, which had the desired effect of stopping her efforts.

The supervisor showed up promptly, and asked why I was taking pictures, so I informed him "I saw no signs prohibiting photography, and I wanted to capture the beautiful architecture of the Northwest terminal", at which point he handed my camera back, and apoligized for the behavior of the security guard.

I thought this was going to be about a mall or something.

Isn't Detroit's AP new? Why do they want you to not look or take pics??

Rent-a-cops are frequently morons who have trouble getting hired at fast food places...why do you think they become guards? :0)

By the way, Detroit's terminals ARE very nice...

A lot of them do it because they want to become police officers and the experience, such as it is, in theory helps make them look good when they apply to police departments.

Fortunately, they screening procedures in place that are designed explicitly to keep the utter idiots with security experience and a crappy resume out.
