Obama has lost women 'with sexist campaign' |
|
Posted by Orange Blossom Special on Sat Jun 7 10:51:32 2008 Geraldine Ferraro, the only woman to run on a major party presidential ticket and a supporter of Hillary Clinton, has accused Barack Obama of conducting a "terribly sexist" campaign.I think the media was worse. You got the one "newscaster" joking that he has to cringe and close his legs when Hill talks. Or how about how it's acceptable to use the B word, but you can't call BO anything? And yada yada. Miss Ferraro, the losing Democratic candidate for vice-president in 1984, said that she might abandon her lifelong party loyalties and vote for the Republican John McCain if Mr Obama is confirmed as the nominee. That's the least of his problems. I don't see Clinton's supporters in Kentucky or West Virginia voting for him. All they have to do is replay the Jeremiah Wright tapes. |

Wright may be coming out of retirement already. He has not promoted Otis Moss yet, and there's speculation Wright will be back real soon.Never mind Ky and W. Va, I don't see some Hillary supporters from the most liberal big cities supporting Obama. I think McCain gets a decent pro-choice rating(I know, Google first) which will help him with Hillary supporters, and hurt him with conservatives. |

Obama's campaign made some serious errors in dismissing women throughout. His "sweetie" comments went over like a fart in a spacesuit. Wasn't until just a week or two ago that they even added a "women's issues" section to the official website. BIG mistake. :(I'm going to vote for him, but my wife will not. She's goi ng to vote for Cynthia McKinney on the Green party line since it's safe to do so in New York as her own protest as to the way Obama has ignored women's issues. If Obama knows what's good for him, he'll QUICKLY begin pandering to this group ... he's in serious trouble otherwise. |

I agree that Obama has some serious issues with regard to women, and your wife is right to question Obama's attitude. But if Obama farts in his spacesuit once in a while, put it in perspective: McKinney takes a dump in hers, and then invites you to try it on. |

Young attractive women seem to be very pro-Obama. Yesterday, they were playing audio clips of Obama at a rally when he took off his jacket and the women went nuts. Sounded like a NKOTB concert circa 1989. But the older women, like Harriet Christian will not be as likely to vote for him. What impressed me was Obama saying "we're going ta', we're going to......" in one of his sentences. He correctd himself, but he sounded so working-class/Brooklynese, even I liked him for a second. |
