Iran and Turkey team up to slaughter Kurds |
|
Posted by Orange Blossom Special on Fri Jun 6 07:00:14 2008 Sicko's pair up.'Iran, Turkey cooperate against Kurds' By ASSOCIATED PRESS Turkey and Iran have been carrying out coordinated strikes against Kurdish rebels based in northern Iraq, a top general told media Thursday in the first military confirmation of Iranian-Turkish cooperation in the fight against separatists there. I'm wondering if the worlds #1 human rights violators actions would knock gaza off the wires, or does real collective punishment not count? PS, Hear of the AP Hamas photographer kidnapped by them?!? The PKK, which has bases in northern Iraq, has been fighting for self-rule in southeastern Turkey since 1984. Tens of thousands of people have died in the conflict. Where's the un? And hows last month "a few months"? Friday, 2 May 2008 So we let Turkey and Iran invade what the NYTimes calls our most sucessful nationbuilding task ever? |

Turkey is our close bosom buddy, Iran is our mortal enemy, and they've teamed up to attack the one group of people in Iraq that we actually like.Last year the War Nerd wrote a multi-part piece about the Kurds. Interesting stuff. Quick summary: it sucks to be a Kurd. My LIRR/NYCT blog |

I always thought of Turkey as a moderate countryHa ha ha. Atatürk was moderate. He set up things so that if the country went too radical, the military would reset it back to "moderate" again. But now they have a radical prime minister and a radical military. They've even taken to putting veils on women again. Istanbul almost looks like New York Don't insult New York like that. And I'm not fond of the name Istanbul, nor Constantinople; the original name was Byzantium. |

Well technically if Turkey would just agree to acknowledge a 'Kurdistan' state and let a segment of the country get annexed to Kurdistan then this war would be over. Then again maybe that's over simplifying it. |
