Insomniac Theater

Once in a while Turner Classic Movies surprises me with some good flix. At 2AM, it's "Death Race 2000" followed by "Rollerball" at 3:30AM.

I guess I'll be sleeping late this morning.

If TCM could have followed "Rollerball" with "Logan's Run" it would have been a perfect night of '70s sci-fi dreck. :-)

Good lawd ... "Death Race 2000" is perhaps the worst turd I've ever seen ... even worse than "Convoy." Truly Leonard Pinth Garnell dreck. Rollerball has turned into a true classic as a result. :)

Sadly, ain't anything better. :(

TCM is mutating into something very interesting on the late night schedule. I caught some vintage Fritz Lang recently. I agree that "Logan's Run" would have been a better pairing.

No ... at MJF's claims, I actually sat THOUGHT that sack of chit last night. MJF's a TWU brother ... felt some sort of obligation ... from now on ... after having to WATCH that piece of QWAP, he's my switchman until he can stand erect again. And THAT ain't gonna happen! =)

That movie blew CHUNKS! ("Chunks" is the dog next door)

I have little choice as to what to watch on the hours I keep - my coworkers are in India and Ukraine ... what I once sold to AMERICA went under, and so MY job is to protect China, Russia, and elsewhere against US ... hell ... MY code protects IRAN! I *used* to be self-employed protecting America, but America flipped me the finger and put me into bankruptcy. I *eat* now though the hours suck ... and there ain't NOTHING on the satellite during MY hours other than "paid program" ... gave it a shot ... THAT movie *really* sucked! :(

No ... it's REALLY that bad! :(

You MISSED it? Poor bastard! Heh.

Reminds me of a stupid old song, every bit as much off topic as this subthread ... but here goes, key of C ...

Top of the morning to ya!

Ya know, "Death Race" goes nicely with a Black & Tan (Yuengling bottles Black & Tans, I don't have my own taps) That's how I was watching it last night. Fell asleep about 15 minutes in.

Heh. Nobody ever said "Death Race" was gypped at the Oscars.

THAT movie TRULY sucked! =)

OK asswipe ... drop drawers, time for the teeyay quack ... this is the BIG bug, it'll only sting a little. Heh.

I guess you kept watching the movie, waiting for it to get better. IT DOESN'T.

It is what it is. Kinda like when we went to watch "Rocky Horror Picture Show". It isn't gonna be confused with "Ghandi". No redeeming features. It was just a goof.

I can't give you your 90 minutes back, but if you let me know the next time your down this way I'll buy you a pint.

Did you at least hang around for the 2nd feature? That movie I actually liked.

Heh. Yeah, endured that, remembered why it was no big deal, and since SPAMALOT was here at Proctor's last night, decided to put myself out of my misery and just ran HOLY GRAIL instead on the company DeeDeeDee. QUITE the improvement! I'm not quite dead yet, I'm getting better. :)

And Rocky Horror was amusing the first ten times ... that's ANOTHER burnout, though FAR more tolerable than that piece of chit that put you under quickly like Prince Valium. {)

Pint? Shirley you jest! Better be a KEG! Heh.

Heh. I just figured you had seen the movie before. I tipped everyone off in my original post when I called it "dreck".

Any movie with a pre-Rocky Sylvester Stallone has gotta be worth a look. ;-)

I wish they'd show "The Lords Of Flatbush" again.

I think one day a week they do the film noir or the completely not rated thing or something.
I remember commericals for it between movies, but don't see what it is on the website.

"I'm forever blowing bubbles ... ''

pretty bubbles in the air
they f-f-fly so high
nearly reach the sky
and I don't remember the rest of the lyrics.....
