Mrs. BfM does not like going out on New Years Eve. Haven't done it for our first 24 years + courtship, so it ain't changin' tomorrow night. One son will be working at GCT all night cleaning up after the drunks and the other son will be with his gf. So here st the house of BfM it will be me, the Mrs. and the old four legged beast ringing in the new year with Dick Clark as usual.

Nothing better than starting off the New Year with a good bang.

I did it twice....once in 1991 welcoming 1992, and again in 1994 welcoming 1995.
Probably the only two times I will ever do it....I was still in my 20's back then, and could handle it lol. You "gotta" do it at least once, but for me.... "never again".
It was a blast though.

This year, I am just going to a friend's house to get "de-soberized". That's pretty much what it's been most recent years. The last time I went out to a public place was for a concert back in 1996 (1997 New Year)...Blues Traveler was playing Madison Square Garden. I did Blues Traveler a few years earlier too at Roseland Ballroom (near Times Square). I forgot what year that was but it was the mid-90's.

Staying home, it's amateur night: overpriced dinners, surplus cops and rookie drunks all add up to a better time watching flicks at home.

your pal,
Fred
