Staying home and opening up the wet bar for the neighbors ... did Times Square twice in my life - it's sorta like Woodstock. If you were there, you're sane enough not to do it again, definitely not a third time. :)

Wiseass! It's solid mahogany and waxed. Don't stay wet long ... no, we're talking about a nice moody 1960's style Irish gin mill style joint with glass shelves, cut mirrors behind it, raised TV in the corners with remote on the bar, beer on tap, the works. Even have a pachinko machine on the wall for those so inclined. And since many of my buddies are cops, free ride home without an appearance ticket for those who are unable to stumble home down the hill. :)

Works for me. Heh.

It was the vomit of drunks that did it for me, as well as not being able to find anyplace to take a whiz. :)

And if you get there after work, pretty much any place where you can actually SPOT the ball is already occupied. 54th and Broadway just didn't do it for me. Heh.

The Friends Of Phila. Trolleys is running a PCC-II Charter New Years eve from 63- Malvern in Philly for 4 hours , mostly over the subway surface routes, but we are not allowed in the tunnel with a PCC-II. We need a roof light on the trolley for that. LOL!

We leave 63-Malvern @ 10PM on the 31st.

Staying home all day, and simply watching as much as possible the GSN (Game Show Newtork) "$100,000 Pyramid" marathon airing between 12:00noon and 8:00pm Eastern. I would rather see GSN airing some vintage-1970's ABC "$20,000 Pyramid" episodes that they have languishing within their tape vaults in cold storage.

We currently have seats available!

As most of you know, SEPTA recently raised the cost of a streetcar charter approximately 250%, making it very difficult for groups to charge a reasonable rate for a 4 hour charter. Due to the generosity of several FPT benefactors who have pledged a hefty down payment towards the cost of the annual NYE Trolley, Friends of Philadelphia Trolleys will again sponsor the annual trip.

Date: December 31
Time: 10.00 PM til 2 AM
Location: PCC-II Car departs promptly from Rt. 10's 63-Malvern Loop,
Fare: $45.00
Snacks and drinks will be available on the car.

For a reservation, please send check asap, made out to FPT,Inc, to:

Harry Donahue
103 Mulberry Court

Never had a problem with that, it was the loud obnoxious drunks and a lousy view that kinda ruined it for me. Pickpockets are easy to deal with. Keep your valuables AND your hand in your pocket. And it's kinda hard to get mugged in a crowd. :)

But New Years was MUCH better on teevee ... that is until Dick Clark's stupid thing, the MTC thing and the need to have all sorts of stupid dancing bear routines instead of just panning the crowd. Perhaps the most annoying thing of all is now we have to endure DISNEY and Lost Wages as part of the so-called festivities. So what I do here is play video tapes of years past and at the designated time coordinates, a computer animation I did a couple of years ago has a plane fly over Iran, and 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-etc until a bomb lands on Tehran ... heh.

Just a note to advise that the remaining few PCC II models that were being held for prospective customers who never paid for them will be available for instant purchase on the FPT New Years' trip this coming Monday evening. These are the last of these cars to be made.
Tickets for the trip are still available. The trip is a fundraiser for
