Entenmann's Fruit Stollen |
|
Posted by Karl B on Fri Nov 16 19:58:15 2007 made its Holiday debut today on supermarket shelves, accompanied by an another price increase. This year it is $5.29 a box, and the usual 10% bakery discount is gone. That is about an .80 cent increase from last year. It would seem as if my favorite treat is rapidly getting too expensive to enjoy anymore. This item is only produced for about 45 days during the Holiday season. |

Thanks, Steve, but postage would more than eat up any savings on price. We used to freeze 12, one per month for the new year. It sounds bad, but it worked very well. After a family meeting, we decided that was the first thing to stop. Too much of that stollen is probably no good for me anyway. |

TD, the Entenmann's plant near you....is that the main plant in Bayshore? If so, I thought I heard it was due to close and move to either Penn or NJ....Only discount outlets were to stay in NYC area. I heard the discount outlet in Brooklyn used to be an Entenmann's bakery plant back in the 70's/80's. I believe another plant already exists in Jersey. |
