Matthew Barrett was giving a civics lesson Tuesday when he inserted a data memory stick into the school computer and the projected image of a topless woman appeared instead of the graphics presentation he had downloaded. Police interviewed Barrett and school officials and seized the data memory stick and the computer to determine where the image came from, a state highway patrol spokesman said." BIG DEAL - like a bunch of 17 year olds have never seen tits before... Just delete them from the memory stick and move on - but noooooo - cops just had to seize the computer and make a big deal out of this..... |

Hold on...I could understand seizure of the stick (where the image was located), but the computer? A bit out of proportion IMO.Then again, the whole issue is really minor IMO, unless someone's trying to make a big scandal out of it (it DID involve a state rep, after all). |

Exactly - we have become so obsessed with "protecting the children" that we have lost all sense of proportionality and justice.Meanwhile if a 14 year old kid commits a crime everyone wants to try him as an adult - this society is so HYPOCRITICAL. We say that kids under 18 are not responsible if they sign contracts, consent to sex, or want to drink yet they are fully responsible if they commit a criminal act. |
