A Happy 15th Birthday to New York 1........if anyone cares.

*obligatory "I don't care" posts follow*

NY1 and WPIX's (the only local NYC station still worth a damn nowadays, and that isn't saying much compared to pre-WB WPIX's GREATNESS) newscasts are the only ones I watch and have watched religiously for years. My "give a damn" just isn't working when it comes to the other local newscasts. NY1 is bare-bones, but it's a good thing that it lacks all of the fluff and fancy graphics as that stuff is way too distracting. They also regularly utilize the NJJ/NYB production music library for their promos and commercials which is a big plus, since that library rocks and was also utilized by the Prevue Channel during the late '90's. I'm a big fan of catchy production instrumental music........too bad that for a peasant like me it's unattainable.

On another note, Staten Island reporter Amanda Farinacci is THE hottest piece of ass over at NY1, and I really admire her dammest efforts to try and conceal those bra-bulldozing tits of her. Good lord those are some nice tits. Susanna Hegner from "The Call" is also a cutie, but we only ever see her in the control room in a little pop-up screen that isn't even 1/4th the TV's size.

If you guys decide not to want to talk about NY1's last 15 years, then uh..........let's talk about the hottest female NYC newscasters!

Well, to each their own but based on the photo I saw, I'd say she'd rate a warm 6.

NY1's Bobby Cuza is sad as a transit reporter. The voice, the expressions, everything....
I don't know if anyone saw his little slip up two weeks ago which was funny. A Broadcast News momement :-)

Even though she's a tad too old for me, I think Roma Torre is kinda hot. The hottest female newscaster in the NYC area is Vanessa Alfano (however she has an IQ of 0).

I like Roma Torre, Annika Pergament, and of course Amanda Farinacci. I do like the CW11 ladies better though: Emily Frances, Jill Nicolini, and MILF extraordinaire weatherwoman Linda Church.

It was really the fault of the directors and not his slip-up, but when he began to introduce the story, he stopped abruptly and looked around in a confused way. Then he began fixing himself up as if it was still the break. It was at least 10 seconds of looking stupid. I don't know how they do things at NY1, but whoever mislead Cuza into thinking he wasn't on the air should get a good slap on the wrist for it.

Lifers: Elizabeth Kaledin was there at inception, but left for CBS News for a number of years and recently came back. IIRC, from day one: Dominic Carter, Lewis Dodley. Roma Torre, Gary Anthony Ramsay, and Budd Mishkin. Many others, perhaps originals, but from the early years who made it to the big NYC stations: people like, Carol Ann Ridell, Melissa Russo, Marcus Solis, Andrew Kirtzman, and Jonathan Dienst.

When Elizabeth Kaledin came back (why would anyone want to come back to NY1?) and Dudley was bringing up how she was an original NY1 member, she instantly intervened and told him to stop "dating" her in a semi-playful manner.

Anyways yeah, she's got MILF qualities. But Amanda Farinacci has tits that any newborn would be glad to nibble on.

Action News? THE Action News? With the "Move Closer to Your World" theme music? Best news theme song. EVER.

WPIX here in NYC used it back in the late '70's/early '80's apparently........our rendition of it was slightly better than yours. >_>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4qvUtF7vQ8

SubChat vets (me not being one as I'm only 20) how do you feel about the demise of independent television and the decline (in quality) of WNYW, WWOR and WPIX? And was WWOR always the weak link of the trio? I mean jeez, the channel doesn't even program for 12 hours on weekends. They air more than a half-day's worth of.....wait for it.......paid programming like they were WPXN or something. When they were under the aegis of UPN it at least seemed like there was some life over there, but now that it's under that glorified syndicated network "My Network TV" it's dead. I bet they don't even turn in a profit anymore. WPIX has been the #1 local channel here in NYC since the early '90's, and big brother WNYW bullies and shoves around little bro WWOR, holding it down as if they were Triple H or something.

Subchat's not that old; therefore, everyone's a vet. (-erinarian?)

TV's been a vast wasteland since the 70s, when hippies took it over.
