Does Anyone Remeber the Words to the Rheingold Beer Song?

I was just listing to the Colonel Bogey March on my CD Player. This march was the theme song for the "Bridge on the Rover Kwai", but to millions of New Yorkers it was the theme song for Rheingold Beer. Does anyone have the complete lyrics?

I vaguely remember a commercial where they whistled that song. I didn't even remember that it was for beer, so I don't know.

The lyrics I remember from the early 1970s, when Rheingold sponsored the Mets, were not sung to that song. But here are the lyrics.

My beer is Rheingold the dry beer
Think of it whenever you buy beer
Its refreshing not sweet
Its the extra dry treat
Won't you try extra dry Rheingold beer?

I did ok from memory until the 4th line.
This jingle was based on the Estudiantina Waltz unless we're thinking of 2 different jingles.

Rheingold also had a pavilion at the 64 World's Fair IINM.

Fred

According to sources on the web, Estudiantina was the basis of the Rheingold beer jingle. Unfortunately, I can’t make the lyrics scan to it (nor can I make them scan to Colonel Bogey!)

I remember the stupid '10 Minute Head' commercials as a kid - even at that tender age, I knew that was a stupid idea for a BEER commercial - who sits and watches their beer foam go down???

Who here also grew up on those Rheingold ads on the Met games, and then TRYING it as their first beer? Rheingold was NOT the best beer for a beer newbie....

They brought Rheingold back and while it was kinda cool to see the bottles and cans on the shelves, it tasted as not-so-great as its ancestor. I say 'not so great' because I won't call a beer 'bad'. Well, not while I'm drinking it anyway.

your pal,
Fred

My grandfather amongst his many occupations was a COOPER in Yorkville for Knickerbocker.

When you go down to Cape Hattaras North Carolina waiting to enter the free ferry to Ocrakoke Island, you're on standby with your motorhome/trailer rig deffered to the beer trucks.

BTW: I hope to make the CED Rodeo but I'm essential core-crew with mandatory overtime...job requirements.

I ran across this post while looking for something else.
So.. years after the original question was posed, here is the answer to the question that was asked (as opposed to the one that was repeatedly answered).

Rheingold, the beer that's ex-tra dry
Rheingold, the beer more mill-ions buy.
They know
Just like we all know
Each glass of Rheingold is pleasantly dry.

This is the first ad I think of when Rheingold is mentioned (not often!). The "My beer is Rheingold.." one is the "other" one in my mind.
