Former Bard President Botstein and Epstein

Posted by cortelyounext on Fri Oct 9 09:17:38 2026

His relationship with Epstein and Botstein's alleged misconduct over many years has been well documented which is why he resigned from leading Bard in the first place but this post, which will probably not rise to the level of a thread, is not about that but it is about this - I mean like this is the type of like Bard student we are producing right even though the institution is known more for its like Progressive politics and the creative and performative arts right than the language arts.

On campus Thursday, first-year student Ingrid Laurison said Botstein's assertion that his relationship with Epstein was (solely) about fundraising has fallen apart.

“I mean, we knew he was like associated with Epstein, right? But he was telling us, it's all for the money, like 'I was trying to do it for Bard,' ... but no, he was like involved with the actual trafficking, too," she said, referencing the allegations in Raskin's letter. "So it's just like he's like a liar.”

Bard recently absorbed Simon’s Rock College, which specialized in students who were socially maladjusted, sometimes mildly autistic. Presumably Bard now has many students of that type. The University of Chicago also serves them, to a lesser extent.
