Old English is Anglo-Saxon. The Canterbury Tales is Middle English.

Did that guy win the free dinner?

I am immersed in War and Peace with The Canterbury Tales up next. I am a slow reader with average understanding and even less retention but enjoy classic literature. I am not looking to humiliate anybody but it is my fervent hope is to eventually engage in argument over premise and character development and storyline and textual analysis of one of the great books and defeat whoever it is I am fighting on this board which would be my crowning achievement and lasting legacy. I just need a little more time to build up the courage and confidence before I go on the offensive.
