I just revisited a thread I participated in back 10 years ago as part of my ongoing research into my heretofore questionable technique applying SOPs in the hope of improving my success rate which, as of DTG 062112Z (Universal Time Coordinated) MAR 26, sits in the 91st or 9th percentile whichever one of those things is the bad one. The thread in question began innoculously enough, on BusChat mind you, and dealt with New Flyer XD60 Articulated Allison transmissions as paired with the Cummins diesels. For reasons I cannot understand much less adequately explain, the thread almost immediately lost traction and drifted out of control into the realm of high finance, politics, and social constructs which bewildered me. I came under intense fire early and often with people accusing me of abject ignorance and ridiculing me for blatant stupidity. It is one of the reasons I stay off that board. With few exceptions, the people who inhabit that place are merciless as evidenced by one of the worst defeats I ever suffered in my life when the formidable and always dangerous JAzumah blasted me in another technical thread. On G-d he/they spit facts and refuted every point I was attempting to make thereby forcing me to realize I was digging myself a hole I could not escape and to cut my losses and run, which I did. He was never once disrespectful but the public humiliation was palpable and has scarred me to this day. Nowadays, for the most part, I stick to what I know which is not much. I'll discuss college football and college lacrosse as well as small engine repairs such as push lawnmowers and other stuff like that.
My reason for wasting your time with this thread is to let those of you who have followed a similar trajectory to mine to appreciate the fact that all is lost and there is no hope for you. I will now end this thread to allow myself the necessary time to heal and decide on best practices and my next steps. I am requesting privacy during this difficult time.
