From what I understand, as a disclaimer I've never been to Dallas, it's not so much a downtown-focused city like New York, San Francisco or Boston, but a metro area in which much of the economic activity is in the suburbs and the downtown is relatively less important. |

I predict that Dallas-Ft.Worth will surpass Chicago in the Nielsen DMA Household rankings.For many decades, the top three markets have been New York Los Angeles Chicago Dallas is closing in and I bet it will surpass Chicago. Houston has grown too. Tampa is now 11. |

You're probably correct, but with so many people streaming their entertainment, tv market size isn't as important as it used to be.And with lowering birth rates and immigration, I expect that fast growing cities will grow slower and many more cities will be stagnant or start losing population than we see now. Chicago has been flat or losing population within city limits for decades and Los Angeles for a decade. We're going to see a lot more of that. Even in Texas. |
