Turkiye vs. USA World Cup thread. Hydration breaks.

Hello handles of the chat community. Hope you're all doing well.

Tonight, the USMNT is playing Turkiye, the country formerly known as Turkey.

As you all know, FIFA has introduced hydration breaks to the game. This essentially makes the World Cup a four quarter game, like football.

Nothing wrong with a hydration break. Probably reduces the risk of an injury by taking a short break. But it also allows broadcasters to air commercials.

I've noticed FOX is showing commercials, but Telemundo isn't.

Could this be because us Americans have no problem with this new intermission because we aren't traditionalist like Hispanics watching on Telemundo, who would probably be appalled by seeing commercials before halftime?

Maybe as the tournament advances, we'll see ads on Telemundo during the hydration breaks.

Why do you insist on bringing this up which serves only to encourage handles to waste time they can never get back in this brief thing called life? S-ccer, like rugby, is not a real sport. Rather, it is a game played by losers where the many tens of fans in America who actually follow s-ccer and who present as male dress up like clowns with painted faces and yell things like "We LOVE you, Gabriel" while crying tears of joy in the event they get their outstretched hand slapped by a player leaving the pitch at halftime. What a disgrace.

USMNT is playing Turkey, the country still known as Turkey and formerly known as the Ottoman Empire.

I've noticed this about Telemundo too. Had to watch Turkey-Paraguay on Telemundo as it wasn't on Fox.

The funny thing between FOX and Telemundo is the commentary.

On Telemundo, when the game ends, they say, "la pelota no rueda mas". "The ball rolls no more".

They say, "en servicio", "in service" when the ball is kicked to the center for a goal.

They said, "pintado amarillo", "pained yellow" when someone gets a yellow card.

And of course, when a goal is scored, we all know the big difference.

In Spanish, it's "Goooooooal". On FOX it's silence or normal commentary.

All the games have been aired in English on Fox or cable channels FS1 or FS2. They're also in English on the FoxOne app, which I never heard of before the World Cup but I get for free*.

*Free because my cable company offers it for free, but I pay so much for cable that nothing is free imo.

They won in the last 30 seconds. Plus we played only one starter until the second half, so it was our B team. So I don't feel bad it. We did learn that we have quite a few players that are a significant drop from the A team.

I know it was our B team. It would be a waste to risk our better players on what is essentially an exhibition match.

It is an embarrassment that a bunch of genocidal nazi's won against the USA of all countries. The most important game of the series.
