Maine Oyster Farmer for U.S. Senate

Posted by cortelyounext on Thu May 7 16:02:38 2026

As a male air hostess of color who happens to identify as white, I consider myself eminently qualified to bring this topic to the fore. The Honorable Graham Platner is running for the U.S. Senate. His background includes serving in the Marines to include combat tours while it also includes a slew of offensive remarks and behaviors all of which he dismisses with a myriad of excuses such as ignorance and peer pressure and youthful indiscretion even though he admits that, with the benefit of hindsight, he was wrong. Well now, I find it difficult to excuse since Platner is looking at his past through the prism of political expediency. Once he chose to run for public office his past became public and it was for that reason and only that reason the accusations needed to be addressed.

So like Jon Stewart interviewed Platner last week and never once raised concerns or touched upon any of the controversies, not one time. Jon Stewart's comedic schtick grew tired many years ago but I used to think he came across as an insightful and incisive never mind eloquent interviewer, agree with him or not. Not so much anymore.

He served in the USMC but really wishes it was the SS.

I used to like Jon Stewart but now I detest him.

I never understood why he tried to give his show up to that bizarre bigot. But luckily don is gone.

I wish they were running a Somali healthcare entrepreneur instead. Since it is Maine.
