Fact 2 is that whils overstaying his isa, he committed a drug offe se and an assault which is illeval and are both crimes. End of story |

Whether I consider it a crime or not is irrelevant. It's just not. That's a fact, not an opinion.AlM said that "If ICE followed the instructions that Trump has publicly given them (concentrate on aliens charged with crimes), people would be less hostile to them." I responded that ICE should do what it's mandated to do regardless. You seem to think that tilting at the windmill of whether overstaying a visa is a crime by itself is meaningful. |

AlM and I disagree as to whether ICE should arrest people whether or not they've committed a crime Actually, I never said that ICE should not detain aliens who had not committed a crime. I said (a) they should follow the priorities that have been announced to the American people and (b) that they should follow established procedures (which procedures should only be changed in accordance with the law). Their failure to do (a) is a scam on the American public and their failure to do (b) is complete disrespect for the rules on changing regulations that have been set up by Acts of Congress and therefore disrespect for the separation of powers in the Constitution. |
