Biologists at Boston University conducted similar research back in 2022. The purpose was to determine which components of the virus make it deadly. They create mutations with the expectation of creating a vaccine or medication that would attack that mutation. The virus that BU created was reported to have an 80% fatality rate. Nothing to worry about. There's less spreading danger for a virus with a 100% kill rate within 8 days, as was reported by the Chinese researchers. The Covid virus had a much lower death rate and was contagious for at least 15 days. There were documented instances that people were contagious for 20 days after coming in contact with an infected person. This isn't a pollyana outlook. The stuff is dangerous, as is not instituting instituting strict quarantines if it leaks outside the lab. |

I remember the 15 and 20 timeline. But I wonder about this:"There's less spreading danger for a virus with a 100% kill rate within 8 days, as was reported by the Chinese researchers. " Are you discussing how virulent it is, or is this based on math? In that, with a 100% kill rate, it doesn't get much of a chance to spread versus less sick people wandering around infecting everyone? |
