Capital Punishment 2025 Update

There were 64 Death Warrants in effect for 2025 among 14 states. As of this date, 47 of the warrantss have been closed after execution. 16 of the Death warrants have been listed as inactive, meaning that executions will not be carried out as of now. 1 Death Warrant is still active until December 24th in the State of Georgia. of the 14 states with prisoners on death row, Florida had 19 death warrants issued for 2025 and carried out 19 executions.

Florida's on a roll. All extant death warrants elsewhere in the country should be carried out.

As of now, Just 4 states, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas have listed there death warrants for 2026, There are 15 in all including a frmale (Christa Pike) in Tennnessee, scheduled for September for the torture killing of a high school rival.
