I can’t recall the last time that I had to pay for a refill for soft drinks at a restaurant with wait service. Maybe decades.

I think that our fast food restaurants are outdated regarding technology but can’t say for sure as I rarely eat fast food and going inside is even rarer. But I have been in a couple of shake shacks and I think that their fountains are behind the counter so no free refills.

Yeah, the syrups are dirt cheap. What costs is the container. Anyone that ever worked in a fast food outlet learns this fast....usually before they're out of high school.

There is also, as a result of reduced imports, a shortage of can blanks for ANY drink makers, driving up the price for anything that's packaged in a can. (Plus cans sell better in summer owing to the desire to avoid glass breakage hazard, especially while outdoors) Like beer. Lots of smaller breweries are hurting as a result.

Given the slim margins most small retailers function under, you can be assured the cost of that canned anything's going up.

You sure that you learn that containers are costly in fast food? Or do you learn that they use the containers to track inventory?

LOL! Read what I wrote. Custom printed coated cups cost too. That's the expense for corporate fast food/franchisees. May not be affected by tariffs, so they won't be raising their price. So what. We're talking about going to the bodega for a can of Coke. Or beer. Those WILL cost more. Follow the thread. May help you keep up.

Those canisters or boxes (as well as 1 gallon milk-style containers that I don't think they make anymore, as they were used in old style fountain service) are cheap. Especially when you co wider how much $$$each brings in. The cups cost more.

Coca-Cola Corp is run by leftists; only such people would raise prices due to "tariffs" that have nothing to do with their product.

And it's clientele is minorities.

Look at the "Share" tv commercials. They are very diverse.

If Coca-Cola can appeal to minorities as a victim of Trump like they are maybe it will help sales.

No, Pepsi has always lowered their price point, trying to market themselves as the price-leader equivalent of Coke. They sell better in tough economies. We’ll likely, probably, see that happen again, soonish.

Seltzer Memories (Re: Coke Raising Prices Due To Trump Tariffs?)

Is seltzer still available in those large glass bottle with the metal shpritzer on top? You know the kind I mean. Seltzer never went flat in those glass bottles.

When I was a kid in Queens, we had a soda man who delivered six bottles of Hammer soda and six bottles of seltzer in a worn, wooden box every Friday morning. He’d pick up the empties from the week before at the same times. My mother would always get three Hammer colas and three Hammer ginger Alesha . Those were also in tall glass bottles with screw-off caps.

If the soda man couldn’t make it for whatever reason, my mother would buy six cans of Key Quality soda at the local Key Food on Union Turnpike. They were 20 cents each and had pull-off tabs. Remember those?

Depends upon whose history you read. The Romans used alum in the time of Tiberius, while the Chinese were using aluminum in the 3rd Century A.D. Aluminum alloy was first developed by a Danish scientist in 1825. Industrial production of aluminum was developed by the French in 1856.

I see nothing in here about raising prices due to tariffs. At least when Philadelphia, San Francisco, Mexico, and other leftist shitholes raise Coke Prices, we know how much.

And it's a lot more than that penny a can increase for a can.

Secondly, maybe if Demofucks actually recycle....because I didn't know they still used imported Aluminum at all for Coke cans. That should be the real breaking news.

Or is this more of that patent JayzeeBMT fakenews that he doesn't factcheck?
