From ESPN:Extinction Rebellion, an activist group with a history of disrupting events around the world, claimed responsibility for the protest. In a statement emailed to The Associated Press, the group blamed climate change for an electrical storm that injured two people at a home near the course Saturday. "This was of course due to increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather conditions," the statement read. "Golf, more than other events, is heavily reliant on good weather. Golf fans should therefore understand better than most the need for strong, immediate climate action." Precisely. The thunderstorm was of course due to increasingly unpredictable and extreme weather conditions. The passing early smmer thunderstorm with a few flashes of lightning this afternoon up here in the mountains of New York is just one more example of the climate crisis I meant to write climate emergency. |

In all candor, I do appreciate our weather trending in a direction that may not bode well for the planet in the long term. At the same time, I am at the point I need to question the veracity of at least some which means many of the claims made by both sides of the argument. I respect the science-based data where I can find it. One thing I have read recently is that the media is not reporting the dangers to the extent it should. It seems to me the "media" is covering climate change consistently. |

Climate protestors stormed the 18th green over in Connecticut at the PGA Travelers in protest, which is their inalienable rightFalse. There is no right to riot in the First Amendment at all. The Amendment illustrates "the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances", which is the opposite of riotous behavior. BTW, the phrase in the Declaration of Independence is "unalienable rights". |
