How could a major public figure and media star go into a high end department store with security (both his and the stores) body guards, employees and customers all around him looking to get autographs and selfies do the deed he was accused of doing? If he just wanted to get laid, just take any bimbo across the street to the hotel he owns and presto, no fuss no muss. Why use a dept store restroom for all the world to see? Now I'm hearing that the Bergdorf Goodman employees who were working that day had a "gag order" instituted once the story broke as to not to say anything to the media about Trump. Why is that? That could have went both ways as to verify or deny the story. But no. They were told to keep your mouth shut and go home in as many words. This story doesn't make sense, strictly in my opinion. Just have to wait and see how the appeal(s) go. |

The prior jury found that a preponderance of the evidence indicated that Trump defamed Carroll and as an aside that he had sexually assaulted her. This whole thing is entirely due to Trump being an arrogant asshole and not following Clinton's path of just issuing a simple denial. |

One big self-inflicted problem is that Trump called her accusations a hoax. He can't possibly prove that. Even if he really never met her, perhaps she just remembered wrong.By calling it a hoax, he damages her reputation by saying she is a fraud and not just someone with a faulty memory. If he had just stuck to his lawyer saying "we deny this these events ever happened and have no further comments" like Clinton did, he would have been fine. |

They didn’t have selfies in the 1990s.He wasn’t as big a celebrity in the 1990s. People knew who he was and he would have been eyeballed at least by people, certainly, but this was in Bergdorf’s which already has a high end clientele who would have been less likely to be fazed by seeing him. Plus, this was allegedly in the dressing room, so a private area where no one would have seen anything meaningful. He didn’t just want to get laid, this guy is allegedly a sexual predator who just wanted to get his way all the time. I don’t know about the gag order, that is interesting. Source? |
