I am guessing that trying to explain this to you is going to be a waste of time but your example is a "no sale". Blocking the appointment of one unqualified nominee does not change the size of the court, which is what the democrats always threaten to do when they don't get their way.

Yes and no. I think we are better off without the Trumper Tantrums and attempts to overthrow a legitimate election, but I also think if we had Trump’s policies outside of that with more professional implementation and logistics we would be better off everywhere else. Trump is the wealthy guy who thinks the only way out of a problem is to throw money at it. That works for developing the Covid vaccines for example, but the logistics of getting people vaccinated requires a different skill set. A Republican with the latter skill set would be better than what we have now.

That’s a policy discussion. IMO, democracy isn’t everything, it’s the only thing. Destitution is preferable to tyranny, so removing a tyrant is more important than having good government policies.
