The receipts from that Home Depot do indeed say Glendale. And he's also right, the recipes for that Trader Joe's say Rego Park

On a side note, as you know Ridgewood and Glendale have the same zip code. Most people from the area know where Glendale and Ridgewood border. But are there official boundaries? Or is it more traditional than actual? I don't know other areas that share this oddity

The shared border is the railroad, which seems logical but I don’t know enough of the background to know if that’s the official one. You’re right, that is really odd that they share the ZIP Code

I don’t know. There would have to be a document at the county records probably. You would know better than me, is there a point to them being separate entities like for taxes or anything like that? I always thought that neighborhood thing was just neighborhoods

I'm trying to remember how the zip code drama played out. It's related to 1977 black outs.

I remember part of Ridgewood had a Brooklyn zip code. These addresses got nail from the post office on Wyckoff Ave.

There was another post office on Woodbine at Fresh Pond. I think it had a different zip code than Wyckoff Ave. And another post office by Myrtle where the bowling alley was.

Not in Queens, for the most part they do let's say 'Richmond Hill, NY 11XXX". It's not like the other boroughs where they do Brooklyn, NY 11XXX, or Bronx, NY XXX, and do not use the actual neighborhood name.
I have no idea why though.

Yes, but that's different than the oddity of Ridgewood/Glendale. But may have something to do with it. Ridgewood originally was an oddity in Queens already...being served out of the Brooklyn post office, even though in Queens. Back pain was the opposite... Ridgewood didn't want to be associated with Brooklyn or Bushwick, as it was so bad, so the finally got a queens zip code. Today it's perhaps the opposite!

When you read the sentence, it has the same cadence and syllabic structure as some of the lyrics of the Warren Zevon song “Werewolves on London”.

For example, when you read the subject line of this thread, it sounds like this lyric:

“I saw a werewolf drinkin’ a pina colada at Trader Vic’s”
