White house resident denys care for American citizens

Posted by Avid Reader on Fri Sep 17 11:59:18 2021

President Joe Biden and his administration recently began to cut the distribution of monoclonal antibodies in many GOP-led states, such as Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, and Louisiana. A spokesperson for the U.S Department of Health and Human Services explained how their department determines the amount of product each state and territory receives on a weekly basis, adding that the red states are currently compromising too big a share of the supply in recent weeks.

The Biden administration has already started cutting some of the supplies to states, like Florida. While the Sunshine state normally receives about 72,000 doses a week to meet the needs, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office confirmed that the Department of Health only sent about 30,950 doses.

Christina Pushaw, press secretary for DeSantis, even blasted the move and said that every corporate media outlet pushes stories about overflowing hospitals without first questioning the Biden Administration for restricting the supply of lifesaving COVID-19 treatments. She said she was happy to see that Biden’s COVDID-19 plan included a 50% increase in monoclonal antibody deliveries but was surprised and deeply disappointed to see that the allocations were cut to Florida.

“Supply of monoclonal antibody treatment to Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas & other Southern states restricted by Biden Admin with no real explanation besides ‘equity. How is it equitable to only send treatment for HALF the Floridians who need it, & NO state sites in Alabama?” Pushaw asked.

But Biden has criticized many governors for opposing his federal vaccine mandates, adding that the governors are doing everything they can to “undermine” his life-saving requirements. He called it the “worst kind of politics” for the lives of citizens of their states and putting the children at risk, adding that he “refuses to give in to it.”

HHS reports indicate that the federal health officials will be working with a new approach to “more evenly distribute” the 150,000 doses that the government makes available every week. They said they would cut the shipments to GOP-led states in the Southeast and accused them of making these pricey antibody drugs a “central part of their pandemic strategy” while spurring mask mandates and other restrictions.

But Florida Gov. DeSantis has simply argued that there should be a variety of options available to Florida residents and that parents should make health and medical decisions for their kids. He has continued to defend school parents and work against the mask mandates being forced through by school boards.

Donald Trump Jr. responded to the news that Biden was restricting antibody treatments in red states as a form of political punishment. He said Americans would die because of Biden’s decision to punish the political enemy and restrict their abilities to secure antibody treatments.

Sen. Marco Rubio also pointed out that while these treatments aren’t a substitute for vaccines, they have prevented thousands of hospitalizations in breakthrough cases. He called the move by the Biden Administration a “partisan payback” against states that don’t agree with them.

Only the Biden Administration would punish states advocating a safe treatment when sick instead of an injection when healthy. You can choose to prevent instead of repair or repair instead of prevent but should be up to the individual and not the establishment. Only red states are protecting that right.

So you don't think that a medicine in very short supply should be distributed equitably?

The way to distribute it equitably is to favor people who have been vaccinated or who were unable to get vaccinated due to age or health.

If enough is available, of course. But the general understanding is that there is not. So it has to be allocated, unfortunately.

Are you asserting some of the supply is unused while others aren't getting it?

We cannot be selective (in reality, punitive) with the afflictions people have whether or not they took the proper precautions or acted foolishly. Some odiot breaks his femur while doing the "milk crate challenge". Should the hospitals deny treatment for it?

When a product is in short supply, some mechanism will judge. One could sell it to the highest bidder. That way rich coastal elites would get a majority of the supply.

Cynical thought here: If everybody stopped using tobacco, think of how much $$$ doctors & hospitals would lose. I remember decades ago, the old "Penthouse" magazine ran a few interesting articles on how much $$$ would be lost if there was a cure for all cancer & how deep down they would not want that to happen. Makes you wonder sometimes.

It would be gradual, like a cure for a wide range of cancer would be gradual. Hospitals have long been ratcheting up their number of rooms and back down as situations change. Doctors also often have to scale up or down at different points in their careers.
