The Mask Police didn’t come for former VA governor Terry McAuliffe

He also admits that voter fraud exists (scroll down).

YAHOO NEWS

Terry McAuliffe pictured maskless on Amtrak despite pledge to ‘lead by example'

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, was pictured maskless in an Amtrak station and New York Penn Station’s Moynihan Train Hall in a violation of federal mask mandates.

McAuliffe, who is seeking a second, non-consecutive gubernatorial term, was seen talking on a cellphone on the train and in the station on July 29.

On Tuesday Fox News reported on the photos, obtained from a passenger who recognized McAuliffe.

“We happened to be in the same train car, and I took the second photo. We took our seats, and I didn’t get up for the rest of the trip, so I can’t speak to what he did or did not do during the trip as far as wearing a mask,” the passenger said.

At the time, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio had stopped short of reinstating a universal indoor mask mandate. But Centers for Disease Control and Prevention masking guidelines kept the requirement for masks on public transportation.

Above McAuliffe’s head in the photo of him maskless is a sign giving notice of the mask policy, which is federal law: “Amtrak requires everyone to wear a face mask. Face masks must fully cover the mouth and nose and secure under the chin. Face masks must always be worn unless actively eating or drinking.”

In a statement, the McAuliffe campaign did not directly comment on the maskless photo but criticized his Republican opponent, Glenn Youngkin, the former co-CEO of private equity firm the Carlyle Group and a first-time candidate.

“Glenn Youngkin has shown Virginians he will be a failure when it comes to controlling this pandemic and rebuilding Virginia’s economy,” said McAuliffe spokesman Renzo Olivari. “Glenn has an extensive history of not following CDC mask guidelines dating back to the worst periods of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he peddles such dangerous anti-vaxx and anti-mask rhetoric that doctors in Virginia have begged him to stop undermining measures that will prevent the spread of this virus. Terry is the only candidate in this race who has a plan to get Virginians vaccinated, keep our kids in schools, and create a better future for all Virginians.”

Youngkin has encouraged Virginians to get vaccinated but was pictured numerous times without a mask in indoor settings before the vaccine was available.

McAuliffe, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, has encouraged mask-wearing and pledged to “lead by example.”

“I will always lead by example, which is why I announced this month that I am requiring all of my campaign staff to be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus,” McAuliffe wrote in a Washington Post op-ed last month.

Virginia, unlike other states, has not re-implemented any universal indoor mask mandates in light of the delta variant of the coronavirus but does require masks in all public schools.

Asked on Sept. 1 if he would reinstate universal indoor masking, including for vaccinated individuals, if he becomes governor, McAuliffe noted to reporters that everyone at an Eagles concert he attended in Washington, D.C., the night before was masked.

“Let’s see where we are. I don’t take office for five months … But I’m really worried,” McAuliffe said. He noted that school districts in Southern states are closing because “they’re not wearing masks, and they’re not getting vaccinated. We can have everyone wearing masks, and I support that.”

“Terry McAuliffe is just like all other career politicians in Washington with their mandates; he thinks the rules are for everyone else. McAuliffe said he wants to make life difficult for everyone else but apparently, he has difficulty taking the pandemic seriously enough to follow federal law,” Youngkin spokesman Christian Martinez said in a statement. “McAuliffe loves to play politics with COVID, but he failed his own leadership test, demonstrating once again that he is all talk and no action.”

Responding to the McAuliffe campaign’s swipes against not wearing a mask, Martinez added: “Youngkin follows the law and respects those around him by wearing a mask whenever and wherever it is necessary.”

Many Democratic politicians have faced backlash and accusations of hypocrisy after being shown without masks or breaking their own coronavirus restrictions.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last year was shown walking through a San Francisco hair salon without a mask even though local restrictions banned haircuts.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom last year was pictured at a swanky restaurant in November for a 12-person birthday party representing six households in violation of his own rules saying no more than three households should gather together. Frustration with his coronavirus restrictions helped fuel a California recall election effort, which Newsom won on Tuesday.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser attended a wedding and was caught not wearing a mask indoors fewer than 24 hours after she re-implemented an indoor mask mandate for the city.

Forgot it was the Democrats who opposed that? Yes, leftists.

Also leftist Democrats. But you made that one up, although neo-Confederates do exist but don't generally espouse that (openly, if they actually believe that; but they are influenced by historical revisionism around Abe Lincoln).

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was JFK's bill. LBJ signed it. Both Presidents were Democrats. In fact, LBJ, a Southern Democrat, correctly predicted that the Democratic Party would "lose the South for the next fifty years" if he signed that bill into law. LBJ did so anyway.

Yes. Everything he says about Israel is left-wing hatred, particularly when he goes after "Zionists" or "the Israel lobby".
When Bush went to the Middle East to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Israel as the Zionist he has become, he was criticized by a Palestinian leader who survives on U.S. aid.

"Is Bush becoming irrelevant?", 05/31/2008
When have you ever heard of or read Buchanan talk about the virtues of the US Constitution?

The police don't enforce store policies. What they DO enforce is when someone breaks the law, like petit or grand larceny, trespass, criminal mischief, etc... The police SHOULD access each situation upon arriving at the scene.
