Three years ago, the NYPD locked the 62-year-old community leader up on statutory rape charges, although the outcome of that case is not clear. |

I'm a bit surprised that you, a former NYPD sergeant, doesn't think that the founder of an organization that's supposed to be protecting its community, turns out to allegedly be a serious threat to its children's welfare? Shomrim is a quasi-official law-enforcement group (it operates vehicles that have a decal and color scheme that is remarkably similar to the NYPD's, and these cars or trucks are equipped with warning lights and sirens. They monitor NYPD and Hatzoloh frequencies, and respond to emergencies in their coverage area), and its leader has now been arrested at the state AND federal levels for suspected pedophilia. I think that's not only horrible, but hypocritical, as well. |
