And Now It Hits Home

My son-in-law's Pennsylvania Army National Guard's unit has just been called up to proceed to Washington for the inauguration. Their due to arrive there Saturday. As of now, I'm told that there now is more troops in Washington than in Iraq & Iran combined.
Damn...who would have thought it would come to this?

Hopefully the show of force will keep the nuts in line. Not so easy to storm the Capitol when there are more guards than violent protestors, so hopefully they won't even try.

Comes as no surprise, the RWers are heavily armed and mistakenly angry. without a dose of reality coming from their own leadership they don't seem to be getting it. Kudos to your son-in-law for being part of those who are protecting this important government transition.

The election was not stolen.

The election was not fraught with fraud, in fact it was the most secure election ever. Use of paper-scanner ballots have proven secure, accurate and readily recountable. Mail in ballots were proven secure and the only fraud seen from them was isolated and less than in typical modern elections.

The Biden-Harris ticket won by over 6 million votes, in a record turnout and garnered over 300 electors [306].

Only when the RWers hear and begin to accept these facts will we see this simmer down. It's going to take a lot of work to fix this, for starters we must ensure it can't happen again. Godspeed to all going to protect our national process.

Well, all I can say is that if some RW outside agitators show up in the guise of Trump supporters, bent on mayhem, violence and disruption, they will be met with deadly force. They'll be no "stand down" orders or rubber bullets.
These mutts should realize that causing disruption will only turn more folks against Trump. How they conduct themselves should make it obvious what their agenda is.

Although I fully support turning people against trump, violence is not the way to go about that. It's my hope they are dissuaded from trying.

Its the violent ones that always grab the headlines. There were protesters (not rioters) with kids in strollers at Washington that day. As for the Marxist led BLM, maybe they should hook up with the radical Trump supporters since both groups would like to overthrow the current US Govt.

Their problems are that they don't want any accountability for their actions while committing crimes, and don't want to listen to the police nor do they think that police should use the necessary amount of physical force needed to effect an arrest.

IAWTP! He'll be gone at least until the end of January. My daughter is taking it pretty hard since she is an emotional wreck from having a miscarrage last month. Daddy here tries to be counselor saying that since he got thru two deployments to Afghanistan, spending two weeks and change in the armed camp that passes for our nation's capital. should be a piece of cake (fingers crossed here). But undergoing a reality check in the past 24hrs, the real threat here is the possibility him of coming home covid positive being next to all those thousands of other troops. Social distancing??? I don't think so.
Thats the real enemy here.

I can understand your apprehension, especially coming on top of the miscarriage. But this is part of bring a military family. It doesn't make the separation easier just because its necessary but when loved ones are called to serve, in some way the families serve to by giving support and showing strength. Bless you and your family.
