All you need to do is get more facts before you start repeating other people's ravings. Especially if you are going to listen to RTO rumors about equipemnt - most are just that. As for Sean Bell, The Queens DA is doing a thorough investigation of the shooting. If the case is so open, then why are they doing the investigation? Until the investigation is concluded, everyone should remember that their point of view is just that - their point of view. If you think that the Sean Bell incident was excessive then you have that right but calling the cops trigger-happy before the facts are known is irresponsible. |

I knew many NYPD officers whose revolvers had nothing but holster wear, passing qualifications. Qualifying on the range does not necessarily mean 'street wise.' |

Undercover officers were in observance of a night club presumbably warranted for previous activities. Driver moves vehicle and strikes another vehicle...undercover officer stands out and is nearly run down by driver. Officers use their weapons to stop vehicle without results...the 9mm bullet is ineffecatious in stopping a vehicle and they continue to fire until vehicle stops with resulting death of driver. Officers did not commit a 'racist' attack....they were frightened because their weapons did not work...and went into a state of panic firing away until vehicle stopped. |

News supplied statement of undertrained and NOT untrained. You can be a cop for thirty years never drawing your weapon. NYPD does not have the extensive facilities that Federal authorities have for simulated scenarios with simulated or live weapons.Not one of the five has ever been involved in an unjustified shooting and I stand behind them. Qualifying at a place like Rodman does not give you real experience to deal with an unexpected situation...it is all 'On the Job' just like us. Because there is on ongoing investigation, we will not immediately hear why the site was under observation by detectives working undercover. Officers did what they could to protect themselves and others as best as they could with 'issue.' |
