I don't see this as such a big deal. Lots of countries have a bicameral legislature with an appointed upper house. Canada, the UK, and Russia are three examples (Russia is of course a bad example). I actually think this would be better than the current setup. The Senate right now is a legislative body that gives people in less populous states far more representation than the more populous states, which is spectacularly undemocratic. Going back to legislative appointment at least would make the Senate once again serve as the representative of the states themselves, and not the people, so it would actually make sense for Wyoming to have the same number of senators as California. |

I have worn an N95 mask every single minute I have been out of the house since March 16th. With a little care I can make sure all my inhales and exhales go through the mask and not around it. Covid viruses die pretty quickly. I alternate masks daily. When I come back inside I take off my mask and put it somewhere I won't touch it until I am ready to go back out again. I immediately wash my hands after touching it, either when I've taken it off or when I've just put it on. |
