I'm looking forward to WatchOS 7. I didn't beta test that one because of the inability to downgrade.

never liked apple computers. too inflexible, too expensive. even geos running on a floppy-only dos pc is better.

and iphones suck large. same reasons.

You notice something about the people who use and prefer apples if you are in a large group. It's very evident at college campuses and copmanies. They're for people who don't know much about computers.

That said, I almost bought an iphone SE recently since i'm not fully a big G fan and I wonder what it's like to use something you don't need to know how to use. I thought steve jobs was into design when he ran things. Maybe next time.

that's what my nerd ass hates: the whole
"...use something you don't need to know how to use" aspect. with computers, so-called "modular" design sucks.

you're a hundred percent correct about who uses apple computers too. "they're just cool" is a pretty moronic rationale for choosing a computing platform.

if apple sold cars you wouldn't be allowed to change a flat tire, add oil or brake fluid or antifreeze on your own.

Possibly, but I don't think knowing about a computer is necessary anymore. You don't have to know how to fix a car to drive one. I like the MacOS better than Windows. The only Windows feature superior to the Mac is the Start Menu.*

*Yes, I know you can add an Applications menu to the dock, but it's not there by default, and try to explain to a novice computer user over the phone how to find an app.

"Possibly, but I don't think knowing about a computer is necessary anymore. "

Which gives us normals fodder for everytime we see someone try to type an email, or like, figure out how to turn a computer off. Lots of people can't figure out how to turn the computer off.

Just like how you don't have to know how to turn on a car or steer anymore.

Oh wait, you equated "knowing about" and "fix[ing]". fail. #appleuser #pig3d

I actually liked the old Apple computers, there was something friendly about them. The new stuff isn't really intuiative.

Windows 10 blows everythign away now.

i love how people act like "voice control" is something new. could've done with a trs-80 computer way back when.

i doubt most users of smart phones know the difference between a bit and a byte, or rom and ram. and imagine trying to explain what photolithography is.

apple wants dumb end-users. also, eff any phone that doesn't let you remove the battery.

This battery issue is p-ing me off. Watch Louis Rossmann on the youtubes. He fixes those things and goes on about how the genius bar breaks computers or this and that. Someone jiggled a wire loose and wnated to charge 500 bucks to reseat it.
what a scam.

For some reason I want to test out the SE or maybe another one and see what the chip is all about and having apps that's integrated. But I've learned one thing in life. Every realtionship (business transaction) is a headache and an argument. Even ordering tomatos via shipt. Do I really want that? I should just get a phone off wish.

Windows still doesn’t let you move/rename an open file. And how do you find the location of an open file?

And the Applications folder is a much better design than the Program Files folder. The help menu in a Mac lets you find any menu option. And you can create a shortcut key for any menu option, and change a lot of other shortcut keys.

Finally, the command key is in a better position for shortcut keys than the control key, and Command-Q makes more sense than Alt-F4 (WTF is that anyway?).

"And how do you find the location of an open file?"

I go to the bottom where it says "type here to search" I type in the name, and open it? It sounds like you're talking about a specific application. Open file on a train sim, or Word? Or are we going on about the task manager and the running processes after saying you don't need to know anything about computers on a mac? Because now you're getting technical.

"indows still doesn’t let you move/rename an open file."
I tested this just now. You still cannot, but A) I'm used to this process now after a lifetime and B) All of this sounds like a preferences anyway. If you prefer something that's your opinion and whatever.

Wtf is an F key? F stands for function.

Your keyboard comment is comical. They still use that cheap spring setup? How common.

A real man customizes and chooses his switches. Some even do their keys. I got red and brown switches. Blue is amazing. I got another I'm putting together if I ever get around to it.

I feel like you gave ntrain validation. I'm not sure if you should be around high voltage equipment.

I'm talking about if you have a file open in Word, or any application really. If you don't remember where you saved, how do you find it? On a mac, when you right click on the file name in the title bar, it shows you the folder that its in and each containing folder that you can then click to open.

I tested this just now. You still cannot, but A) I'm used to this process now after a lifetime and B) All of this sounds like a preferences anyway. If you prefer something that's your opinion and whatever.

It's a clear advantage. You don't ever have to use this feature, but it's an awesome feature to have when you need it.

Wtf is an F key? F stands for function.

I meant how is ALT-F4 a reasonable shortcut for exiting an application? Command-Q is Q for "quit".

Your keyboard comment is comical. They still use that cheap spring setup? How common.

I don't know what you mean. What does this have to do with shortcut keys? Your picture isn't showing up.

If you use the mouse when you can use the keyboard, you do not know how to use a computer.

No, I shouldn't be around high voltage equipment. There are trained professionals for that. Same thing with repairing a car beyond changing the wipers or something.
