Trump is the most pro-gay president in U.S. history

Posted by Orange Blossom Special on Tue Sep 15 09:11:45 2020

Without a doubt, President Donald Trump is the most pro-gay president in history. As a matter of fact, Trump has been more openly supportive of gay rights than former President Barack Obama was when he was first elected in 2008, or President Bill Clinton during his eight years in office.

Essentially, the main points are buried in this:
Did the Dolphin Democrats praise the president when he announced his “Initiative to Decriminalize Homosexuality” around the World?
Did the Dolphin Democrats praise the president when he named Richard Grennell as Ambassador to Germany and four others?
Did the Dolphin Democrats praise the president when he asked Congress in his 2019 State of the Union Address, to make the needed budget commitment to eliminate the HIV and AIDS epidemic in the United States within 10 years?
Did the Dolphin Democrats praise the president when, as part of his campaign to end the HIV and AIDS epidemic in ten years, his administration announced that 200,000 uninsured Americans will gain access to HIV-preventive medicines at no cost?
Did the Dolphin Democrats praise the president when he nominated Patrick Bumatay, an openly gay Filipino man, as a judge in the important to 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals?

What about when President Trump's Justice Department argued before the Supreme Court that LGBT individuals are not covered under Title VII?

What about when President Trump tried to ban LGBT in the military?

Presidents Obama and Clinton appointed plenty of LGBT Judges (many more than Trump - including possibly a Supreme Court Justice since nobody is really sure about Justice Kagan's preferences) so why the focus on only Patrick Bumatay?

I do agree that President Clinton temporarily set back LGBT rights with "don't ask don't tell," DOMA, etc., but there was great evolution nationwide in the intervening years. While President Obama may not personally be a fan of homosexuality, his administration supported the overturning of DOMA and state level measures supporting the rights of LGBT individuals to marry each other.

He has locked away in his drawer evidence that Trump is racist. Only he and a few journ-o-lists have access to it. None of the rest of the world has seen it yet.

I can see that you're Asian.
I can see that you're have a small buldge in your skinny jeans (what used to be termed gender).
I can see that you have no legs under those skinny jeans

How do I see what you do in the public restroom after midnight?
How far do you wan tto take Title VII to cover what's already illegal typically?

You know nothing about me. I am not Asian nor am I LGBT, although I believe that LGBT citizens shall have the the same rights as other citizens.

The original statement wasn't that Trump was pro-trans, so the issue w/r/t the military doesn't really apply.

An argument I've heard for the trans ban in the military is that trans people have a high suicide rate, which isn't something you particularly want in a military context.

I would care because I have family and friends who are LGB (don’t believe that I personally know any transgender people although I know that in my lifetime I have met at least 1).

Um, soldiers in general have a terribly high suicide rate.

Not clear. Maybe the problem with young transgender people is that they just don't feel they fit in anywhere, whereas if they were in the Army they'd feel they had a purpose.

I realize that's pure armchair psychology, but so was the post I responded to.
