Lord and Taylor or HudsonBay Trading, which owns a number of department store chains globally? (L&T is just one of them)

They've been screwing up for a long time. The first major culmination of that was their closing the 5th Ave store.

Weren't they saving for a rainy day? Living within their means? This isn't the pandemic's fault, it's L&T's fault.

Sorry, but if that goes for the little guy, it applies to big business, too.

Those department stores all sell the same stuff. As the middle class has shrunk since the seventies, They now occupy a smaller marketplace. So I t's harder to sell the ambiance and quality of their products. Add to that the repetition from outlet to outlet, at higher prices more cannot pay and it's inevitable disaster.

It,s not entirely about Amazon. People still go out to shop. They're just not going into these higher-end stores. They can't afford it. The few that can aren't enough to support them.

Hudson bay company? I like the flagship. Minus the almost naked carribean girls for whatever holiday the store was celebrating.
